Day of rest 2!

The people of Rolim have been kind to us. They know we`ve had a hectic schedule so they`ve let us rest a little over Easter weekend. Yesterday we went to an ecological get away. I can only describe it as a cross between the resort in Dirty Dancing and Centre Parks! It was very relaxing, though how I can come away from a few hours in the sun as white as I came, I don`t know! We were acting like big kids and managed to comendere a giant floating tartaruga (turtle) before begrudgingly giving it back to the children...

In the evening we had more traditional Brazilian cuisine with our hosts- meat, rice and beans and various exotic salad and veg that I forget the name for as soon as I´m told(!) One thing we were amazed at is that they even had a cot on hand for sleepy babies that they brought right to the table for Giselle`s little Augusto. That is taking child friendly to a whole new level!

Next we went to a Brazilian club night courtesy of our hosts. In fact it was a beer (chopp) festival which was rammed as it was a special event for Easter and it was fascinating watching local people of all ages dance. They are hypnotising. It makes me wish that in Britain men and women still danced together; it would be a lot more romantic and in Brazil it`s a cool thing to do. We definitely stood out like a sore thumb but it was worth it! One thing that did make us laugh was getting out of the club. We were all a bit pooped so left at 1, but it was a stealth military operation as they don`t let anybody out until 2 at the earliest. Our night life in Britain is a little different!
